The 17th Meeting of the COMCEC Poverty Alleviation Working Group (PAWG) was held on October 7th, 2021, in a virtual-only format with the theme of “COVID-19 and Its Adverse Effects on Socio-Economic Inequalities in the OIC Member States”.
The representatives of 23 Member States, which have notified their focal points for the Poverty Alleviation Working Group, attended the Meeting. The meeting was further attended by the World Bank, Turkish Red Crescent (Türk Kızılayı), SESRIC and COMCEC Coordination Office (CCO).
The Representatives of the Member States and International Institutions have shared their experiences, achievements and challenges on socio-economic inequalities during COVID-19 pandemic. The Meeting has also considered the research report on theme of the Meeting prepared specifically for the Meeting.
