The 41st Follow-Up Committee Meeting of the Standing Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation (COMCEC) of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), chaired by His Excellency the President, was held in Ankara on May 13–14, 2025.
The 41st COMCEC Follow-Up Committee Meeting was attended by Türkiye as the permanent chair, along with committee members Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Qatar, Brunei Darussalam, The Gambia, Senegal, Kuwait, Indonesia, Nigeria, and Palestine, as well as representatives from the OIC General Secretariat and relevant OIC institutions.
During the meeting, the activities undertaken by COMCEC since the 40th COMCEC Ministerial Session aimed at enhancing economic and commercial cooperation among the Member States were discussed; recommendations to be submitted to the 41st COMCEC Ministerial Session, to be held on November 1–4, 2025, were formulated; and a draft agenda for the said Ministerial Session was prepared.
During the meeting, Israel’s attacks against Palestine were broadly condemned, and the importance of Islamic countries acting in unity in support of the Palestinian cause was emphasized. A call was made for an end to the genocide being carried out by Israel against the people of Gaza, emphasizing that true peace and stability in the region cannot be achieved without the restoration of Palestine’s political integrity. The importance of providing the necessary economic support to Palestine was also highlighted, and the OIC Member States were urged to continue their support in this regard.
Also addressed during the meeting were the latest developments in COMCEC’s key programs and projects, particularly the OIC Trade Preferential System (TPS-OIC), the OIC Arbitration Center, COMCEC Project Funding and the COMCEC Al-Quds Program. The meeting concluded with a closing session held on May 14, 2025.
