Within the framework of the 41st COMCEC Ministerial Meeting, the “Ministerial Working Breakfast on Syria” was held on Tuesday, November 4th, 2025, under the chairmanship of H.E. Cevdet YILMAZ, Vice President of the Republic of Türkiye.
In his opening remarks, H.E. Mr. YILMAZ expressed his great pleasure in welcoming Syrian Arab Republic back under the COMCEC umbrella after many years, emphasizing the importance of the shared will of Islamic countries to contribute to Syria’s reconstruction efforts. He also stated that the COMCEC-Syria Program, launched by President of The Republic of Türkiye H.E. Recep Tayyip ERDOĞAN, which was designed to increase human and institutional capacity in Syria, would be an important step in this regard.
At the working breakfast, Syrian Minister of Economy and Industry, Mr. Mohammad Nidal AL-SHAAR, highlighted his country’s current economic situation and priority development needs. The President of the Syrian Development Fund presented strategic projects implemented in line with the vision and goals established to rebuild the country and ensure its sustainable development. Afterwards, the heads of delegations attending the breakfast shared their views and suggestions on potential collaborations that could support Syria’s economic and social development.
