A panel titled “COMCEC Syria Program” was held on 1 November 2026 in İstanbul on the sidelines of the 42nd COMCEC Ministerial Session. The discussions focused on the Program’s five projects in data-driven planning, flour supply and bread distribution planning, vocational training, international standards and halal certification. Future priorities for capacity development and cooperation opportunities involving public institutions, academia, civil society and international organizations were also addressed.
Mr. Mohammad Ihab Abdul Ghani ZAKOUR, Director General of the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority and Mr. Ahmad ANKIR, Director of International Cooperation at Syria’s Ministry of Economy and Industry contributed to the discussions as panellists with the moderation of Mr. Mehmet Celalettin AKTAŞ, Head of the Programs and Projects Department at the COMCEC Coordination Office.
