23^rd Meeting of the COMCEC Financial Cooperation Working Group

The 23^rd Meeting of the COMCEC Financial Cooperation Working Group was held on 22 April 2025, in a virtual-only format, with the theme of “Promoting Sustainable and Environmentally Friendly Islamic Financial Instruments to Combat the Adverse Effects of Climate Change and Natural Disasters in the OIC Member Countries.”

The representatives of 21 Member States, which have notified their focal points for the Financial Cooperation Working Group, attended the Meeting. The meeting was further attended by the representatives of the SESRIC, IsDB, CIBAFI, IFSB, OIC Exchanges Forum, COMCEC Capital Markets Regulators Forum, OIC-COMCEC Central Banks Forum, OIC General Secretariat and COMCEC Coordination Office.

Experts from the Member Countries, international institutions and private sector have shared their experiences, successful practices, and challenges in this field.

The preliminary findings of the research report being prepared on the theme of the meeting have been shared with the participants. A presentation on Indonesia as one of the selected case-country studies has also been delivered at this Meeting. The final version of the report will be submitted to the 24^th Meeting of the Financial Cooperation Working Group on 17-18 September 2025.

24^th Meeting of COMCEC Agriculture Working Group

The 24^th Meeting of the COMCEC Agriculture Working Group (TWG) was held on 22 April 2025, in virtual-only format, with the theme “Strengthening the Resilience of Family Farmers and Small-Scale Producers in the Agriculture and Food Sector in OIC Member Countries” with the participation of the OIC Member Countries and International Institutions.

During the meeting, experiences on strengthening the resilience in the OIC Member Countries and the examples of good practices were shared and common challenges were addressed. The meeting also discussed how to further enhance efforts to develop or improve strengthening the resilience. On the other hand, the participants were also briefed on the first draft of the Research Report prepared in line with the theme of the meeting.
