Chaired by the President of the Republic of Turkey and powered by 57 members and 5 observer members, the 31st Ministerial Session of the COMCEC was held at Istanbul Congress Center from November 23 to 26, 2015. The member states were represented by their respective Ministers during the session inaugurated by the Turkish President H.E. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. In addition, the Session was attended by the delegates of relevant OIC institutions and international organizations.

The theme of this year’s Ministerial Exchange of Views Session was designated as “Post-2015 Development Agenda and Development Challenges of the Islamic Ummah: Improving Basic Services Delivery” due to the fact that the year 2015 is a milestone for the international development agenda. Within this context, the delegates discussed over potential collaborations and dwelled on what type of contributions the member states can make to the Post-2015 Development Agenda.

During the 31st Ministerial Session, the delegates also addressed the latest developments pertaining to efforts to improve cooperation among the member states of the COMCEC, and discussed over the items of the Draft Agenda adopted by the 31st Follow-up Meeting of the COMCEC held on May 13-14, 2015 in Ankara.

Apart from the COMCEC Session, a series of events were held for this year regarding the agenda of the Session.
