13th Annual Coordination Meeting of COMCEC Focal Points was held virtually on 9-10 June 2026 with the participation of COMCEC Working Groups and National Focal Points.
During the Meeting, the focal points were briefed on the latest developments concerning the COMCEC Working Groups and the COMCEC Project Support Programs. Comprehensive information was also provided on the activities carried out under the COMCEC framework. In addition, the focal points met within their respective cooperation areas—Trade, Financial Cooperation, Agriculture, Transport and Communications, Tourism, and Poverty Alleviation—to exchange views on forthcoming activities and discuss potential themes and research subjects for the 2027–2029 period.
The Meeting also featured an in-depth session on the key principles, procedures, and practical aspects of preparing and submitting project proposals under the COMCEC Project Funding Mechanism. Furthermore, representatives from The Gambia and Suriname shared their experiences and insights gained from the implementation of their projects, highlighting good practices and lessons learned. Besides representative of Syrian Arab Republic shared key insights regarding the recently started COMCEC Syria Program. The Meeting also included a hands-on exercise in which participants worked on the preparation of a sample project proposal within the framework of the funding mechanism.
