The 25th Meeting of the COMCEC Poverty Alleviation Working Group (PAWG) was held on 15-16 September 2025, in Ankara, with the theme of “Decent Housing for the Poor in the OIC Member Countries” with the participation of the OIC Member Countries and OIC Institutions.
Throughout the sessions, participants shared their national experiences on housing strategies, highlighted good practices, and discussed common challenges faced in addressing the housing needs of the poor. The meeting also provided a platform to deliberate on ways to further strengthen policy development and enhance strategies aimed at improving access to decent housing.
In addition, participants were briefed on the final draft of the Policy Guide on Decent Housing for the Poor in the OIC Member Countries. The meeting come up with set of policy recommendation which was prepared in line with the theme of the meeting, to be submitted to adoption of 41st COMCEC Ministerial Meeting on 1-4 November, 2025.
Furthermore, on the second day of the Meeting, a field visit was organized to a social housing project implemented by the Housing Development Administration of the Republic of Türkiye (TOKİ). Through this visit, the participants had the opportunity to directly observe the functioning and practices of the project and to gain first-hand insights into the ongoing activities.
