The 27th Meeting of the COMCEC Poverty Alleviation Working Group (PAWG) was held on 16-17 September 2026 in Ankara, under the theme of “Preventing the Skill Mismatch in the Labor Markets of the OIC Member Countries,” with the participation of representatives from the OIC Member Countries and relevant OIC Institutions.
Throughout the sessions, participants discussed the main findings of the research report on preventing skill mismatch in the labor markets of the OIC Member Countries. The discussions focused on the key dimensions and drivers of skill mismatch, as well as policies and institutional mechanisms for improving the alignment between skills supply and labor market demand. Participants also exchanged views on country experiences, good practices, and common challenges in addressing skill mismatch.
In addition, participants were briefed on the final draft of the research report on Preventing the Skill Mismatch in the Labor Markets of the OIC Member Countries. The Working Group came up with set of policy recommendation to be submitted to the 42nd COMCEC Ministerial Meeting to be held on 31 October – 3 November, 2026.
