The 23rd  Meeting of the COMCEC Agriculture Working Group was held on September 22-23, 2025, in Ankara, Türkiye with the theme of “Strengthening the Resilience of Family Farmers and Small-Scale Producers in the Agriculture and Food Sector in OIC Member Countries”.

The representatives of 12 Member States, which have notified their focal points for the Agriculture Working Group, attended the Meeting. The meeting was further attended by the   SESRIC, IOFS. FAO-SEC, and COMCEC Coordination Office (CCO).

Representatives of the Member States and international institutions have shared their experiences and best practice examples about strengthening the resilience of family farmers and small-scale producers. The main findings of the research conducted specifically on the theme of the Meeting was presented. The Working Group come up with concrete policy recommendations to be submitted to the 41st  COMCEC Ministerial Session.

The 13th Call for Proposals has been announced by the COMCEC for the projects to be supported in 2026 in the sectoral themes identified within the scope of COMCEC Project Funding.

The 25th Meeting of the COMCEC Trade Working Group (TWG) was held on 22-23 September 2025, in Ankara, with the theme “Developing/Improving Export Strategies in the OIC Member Countries” with the participation of the OIC Member Countries and International Institutions.

During the meeting, participants shared their national experiences on export strategies, highlighted good practices and discussed common challenges. Furthermore, participants were briefed on the final draft of the Policy Guide on Developing/Improving Export Strategies in the OIC Member Countries. The meeting come up with set of policy recommendation which was prepared in line with the theme of the meeting, to be submitted to adoption of 41st COMCEC Ministerial Meeting on 1-4 November, 2025.

The 25th Meeting of the COMCEC Transport and Communication Working Group was held on September 17-18, 2025, in Ankara with the theme of “Enhancing and sustaining Rural Accessibility in the OIC Member Countries.”

Experts from the Member Countries and various international institutions have shared their experiences, successful practices, and challenges in this field.

The final version of the report submitted on the theme of the meeting has been shared with the participants. A presentation on Indonesia, Morocco and Türkiye as selected case-country studies, was also delivered at the Meeting.

Policy Recommendations were also formulated to be submitted to 41st COMCEC Ministerial Meeting, for the utilization of Member Countries in this field.

The 24th Meeting of the COMCEC Financial Cooperation Working Group was held on September 17-18, 2025, in Ankara with the theme of “Promoting Sustainable and Environmentally Friendly Islamic Financial Instruments to Combat the Adverse Effects of Climate Change and Natural Disasters in the OIC Member Countries.”

The representatives of the Member States, which have notified their focal points for the Financial Cooperation Working Group, attended the Meeting. Representatives from SESRIC, IsDB, the IFC-WB, the OIC Exchanges Forum, the COMCEC Capital Market Regulators Forum, and the OIC-COMCEC Central Banks Forum also attended the meeting.

Experts from the Member Countries, international institutions, and the private sector have shared their experiences, successful practices, and challenges in this field.

The final version of the report submitted on the theme of the meeting has been shared with the participants. A presentation on Azerbaijan, Indonesia, Nigeria, and Qatar, as selected case-country studies, was also delivered at the Meeting.

The 25th  Meeting of the COMCEC Tourism Working Group was held on September 15th-16th, 2025 in Ankara, Türkiye, with the theme, “Improving the Quality and Sustainability in Heritage Tourism in OIC Countries”.

The Meeting was attended by the representatives of 18 Member States. Representatives of the COMCEC Coordination Office, Statistical, Economic and Social Research and Training Centre for Islamic Countries (SESRIC), Research Centre for Islamic History, art and Culture (IRCICA) and  Türkiye Tourism Promotion and Development Agency (TGA).

The Representatives of the Member States shared their experiences, achievements, and challenges regarding heritage tourism in their respective countries. The participants also deliberated on the aforementioned theme and considered the study “Improving the Quality and Sustainability in Heritage Tourism in OIC Countries” commissioned by the COMCEC Coordination Office.

In addition to the research report prepared on the aforementioned theme, the case studies were discussed in detail at the meeting. Along with the opinions and suggestions of the participants and the findings revealed within the scope of the relevant study, the draft policy recommendations on the subject were formulated.
