12th Meeting of the COMCEC Financial Cooperation Working Group

The 12th Meeting of the COMCEC Financial Cooperation Working Group was held on March 28th, 2019 in Ankara, Turkey with the theme of “Infrastructure Financing through Islamic Finance in the OIC Member Countries”.

The representatives of 23 Member States, which have notified their focal points for the Financial Cooperation Working Group, attended the Meeting. Representatives of COMCEC Coordination Office, SESRIC, SMIIC, IIRA, CIBAFI, AAOIFI, the OIC Exchanges Forum, the COMCEC Capital Markets Regulators Forum, OIC-COMCEC Central Banks Forum, IDB Group and Kuveyt Turk have also attended the Meeting.

The Representatives of the Member States have shared their experiences, achievements and challenges on Infrastructure Financing through Islamic Finance in their respective countries. The Meeting has considered the Study “Infrastructure Financing through Islamic Finance in the OIC Member Countries ” commissioned by the COMCEC Coordination Office.

13th Meeting of the COMCEC Transport and Communications Working Group

The 13th Meeting of the COMCEC Transport and Communications Working Group was held on March 21, 2019, in Ankara, Turkey with the theme of “Improving Transport Project Appraisals in the Islamic Countries”.

The representatives of 22 Member States attended the meeting. The representatives of the IDB Group, Limak Group, SESRIC and COMCEC Coordination Office also attended the meeting.

The representatives of the Member States have shared their experiences, achievements and challenges regarding transport project appraisals in their respective countries. Further, they have deliberated the policy issues that might be implemented to enhance the effectiveness of transport project appraisals. The meeting has mainly considered the studies titled “Improving Transport Project Appraisals in the Islamic Countries” and “Transport and Communications Outlook of COMCEC 2018” prepared by the COMCEC Coordination Office.

The 13th Meeting of the COMCEC Trade Working Group was held on March 7th, 2019 in Ankara, Turkey with the theme of “Enhancing Public Availability of Customs Information in the OIC Member States”.

The representatives of 17 Member States attended the Meeting. Moreover, representatives of COMCEC Coordination Office, GCC, ICDT, ITFC, WCO, SMIIC, Solmaz Customs Consultancy have also attended the Meeting.

The Representatives of the Member States have shared their experiences, achievements and challenges in enhancing public availability of customs information in their respective countries. The Meeting has considered the Study “Enhancing Public Availability of Customs Information in the OIC Member States” commissioned by the COMCEC Coordination Office and the “COMCEC Trade Outlook 2018” prepared by the COMCEC Coordination Office.
