The short-list of the Ninth Call for Project Proposals of COMCEC Project Funding has been announced.

COMCEC Coordination Office (CCO) is calling for project proposals to be financed in 2022 under COMCEC COVID Response (CCR) Program. Applications will be closed on November 15th, 2021.

With a view to address the existing and potential ramifications of the COVID Pandemic, in the six cooperation areas (agriculture, trade, tourism, poverty alleviation, transportation and communication, finance), the CCO will finance certain types of project, which would focus on needs assessment, sharing expertise and providing direct grants to final beneficiaries. For the details regarding project preparation, submission, appraisal, implementation, monitoring and evaluation procedures, see CCR Guidelines.  Other reference documents will be communicated to the relevant COMCEC Focal Points of the Member Countries through e-mail.

Within the scope of the program, projects related to Sectoral Themes prepared by considering the policy recommendations on COVID-19, which have been formulated by the COMCEC Working Groups, will be supported. Member Countries will also be able to submit projects for their specific needs caused by the COVID-19 Global Pandemic.

Please note that only government institutions registered to the relevant COMCEC Working Group can submit project proposals to CCR. NGOs and private sector organizations are not eligible.

The 17th Meeting of COMCEC Transport and Communications Working Group was held virtually on October 14th, 2021, with the theme of “Mitigation Strategies for Transport Service Providers During and After COVID-19”.

The representatives of 17 Member States attended the meeting. Furthermore, the representatives of the SESRIC, Turkish Airlines and COMCEC Coordination Office attended the meeting.

The representatives of the Member States have shared their experiences, achievements and challenges regarding mitigation strategies for transport service providers during the global pandemic in their respective countries. Furthermore, they have deliberated good practices and challenges faced caused by adverse impact of the pandemic on transport sector. The meeting come up with concrete policy recommendations to be submitted to the 37th COMCEC Ministerial Session. The meeting has mainly considered the final draft report titled “Mitigation Strategies for Transport Service Providers During and After COVID-19 in the OIC Member Countries” which have being conducted by the COMCEC Coordination Office.
