The Third Meeting of the COMCEC Trade Working Group was held on February 27th, 2014 in Crowne Plaza Hotel Ankara, Turkey with the theme of “Facilitating the Intra-OIC Trade: Improving Efficiency of the Customs Procedures in the OIC Member States”.

The Meeting was attended by the representatives of 21 Member States, which have notified their focal points for the Trade Working Group namely, Bangladesh, Cameroon, Comoros, Egypt, Indonesia, Iraq, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Libya, Malaysia, Mali, Morocco, Oman, Pakistan, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Tunisia, Turkey and Yemen. Representatives of COMCEC Coordination Office, Islamic Centre for Development of Trade (ICDT), Islamic Development Bank Group (IDB/ITFC), United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), World Customs Organization (WCO) and GAINDE 2000 have also attended the Meeting.

The Representatives of the Member States have shared their experiences, achievements and challenges in Customs Procedures in their respective countries. The Meeting has considered the Studies namely “Facilitating the Intra-OIC Trade: Improving Efficiency of the Customs Procedures in the OIC Member States” and “COMCEC Trade Outlook 2014” prepared by the COMCEC Coordination Office.
