The 14th Meeting of COMCEC Transport and Communications Working Group was held on October 3rd, 2019, in Ankara, with the theme of “Risk Management in Transport PPP Projects in the OIC Member Countries”.

The meeting was attended by the representatives of 21 Member States. The meeting was further attended by the representatives of the IDB Group, Association of Turkish Consulting Engineering and Architects (TMMOB), Yapı Merkezi Group, SESRIC and COMCEC Coordination Office.

The representatives of the Member States have shared their experiences, achievements and challenges regarding risk management in transport PPP projects in their respective countries. Further, they have deliberated the policy issues that might be implemented to enhance the capacity of member countries to effectively manage risks related to the transport PPP projects. The meeting has mainly considered the studies titled “Risk Management in Transport PPP Projects in the Islamic Countries” and “Transport and Communications Outlook of COMCEC 2019” prepared by the COMCEC Coordination Office.

A study visit was conducted on 7th August 2019 in Ankara, Turkey within the scope of the project titled “Study on Effective Strategies to Establish Sustainable Muslim Friendly Tourism Parks in Selected OIC Member Countries” being implemented by Iranian Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organisation.

Contents and details of the research report was discussed with Turkish partner and information was requested during the study visit.
