26th Meeting of the COMCEC Poverty Alleviation Working Group

The 26th Meeting of the COMCEC Poverty Alleviation Working Group (PAWG) was held on 21 April 2026 in a virtual-only format, under the theme of “Preventing Skill Mismatch in the Labour Markets of the OIC Member Countries”, with the participation of the OIC Member Countries and International Institutions.

The Working Group has focused on experiences and perspectives of member countries and international organizations, as well as examples of good practices on skill mismatch, and addressed common challenges. The Meeting also eleborated on how to further enhance policies and strategies to better align skills with labour market needs.

The 26th Meeting of the COMCEC Tourism Working Group (TWG) was held on April 21st, 2026 in a virtual-only format, with the theme “Impacts of Climate Change and Mitigation Strategies for Sustainable OIC Tourism” with the active participation of the OIC Member Countries and international institutions.

During the meeting, the current status of climate change was discussed, with a particular focus on its impact on tourism in OIC Member Countries. Experiences, best practices, and the challenges encountered were also examined, along with climate change mitigation and adaptation strategies for promoting sustainable tourism in OIC Member Countries. Besides, the participants have been informed on the first draft of the report prepared by the COMCEC Coordination Office on the subject and their observations have been received.

The 26th Meeting of the COMCEC Transport and Communications Working Group (TCWG), which have focused on theme of “Designing Integrated Multimodal Transport Systems in OIC Member Countries”, was held on 20 April 2026, in virtual-only format, with the active participation of the OIC Member Countries and International Institutions.

Working Group elaborated on experiences on multimodal transport and integrated systems in the OIC Member Countries and the examples of successful practices and addressed common challenges. The meeting also discussed how to further enhance efforts to design and manage integrated multimodal transport systems.
